 
On July 10, the 10th regional meeting of the Global Development Learning Network -- East Asia and the Pacific Association (GDLN-EAPA) opened in Hilton Opera Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam. Dr. Li Kouqing, vice president of SNAI, on behalf of Shanghai Distance Learning Center, attended the meeting.
The three-day meeting was attended by over 100 delegates from organizations in East Asia and the Pacific region providing distance learning. Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Education and Training Tran Van Nhung made a welcome remark at the opening ceremony.
The meeting focused on exchanging views and developing policies on how modern communication tools can help disseminate knowledge for development, identifying business development opportunities for content provision through the GDLN and other academic, research and trade networks operated by regional universities and organizations. During the meeting, the delegates visited the Vietnam Development Information Center (VDIC), where the Hanoi DLC is located. A video conference was made among VDIC, HCMC DLC and other DLCs in Vietnam.
Dr. Li Kouqing was invited to chair one of the sessions of the meeting. He made a brief introduction on SNAI and Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Center, and proposed cooperation opportunities with other DLCs and organizations on content provision and course development. The proposition was widely welcome by the delegates.
At the end of the meeting, a GDLN Network Agreement Ceremony was held. Dr. Li Kouqing signed the Agreement with the World Bank on behalf of Shanghai National Accounting Institute. |
