Research and Development Department (RD)
In cooperation with the Marketing Department and the Academic
Affairs Department, RD creates the training plan and develops
teaching materials. RD's main activities include: designing curriculum
modules; developing training courses; instructing new courses;
establishing databases of teachers, teaching materials, and cases;
performing academic research; engaging in consultation and academic
exchange; and developing courses for distance learning.
RD consists of four centers: CPA Research Center, CFO Research
Center, Financial Research Center, and Industrial Economics and
Business Administration Center .
RD is presently performing two research projects: Auditing Laboratory
and Capacity Framework for China's CFOs.
Academic Affairs Department
The Academic Affairs Department manages all short-term training
programs from three centers: Public Courses Center, Customized
Courses Center and CPA Courses Center. The main functions include:
establishing the training schedule, designing the curriculum,
inviting instructors, organizing trainees, executing training
programs, managing training records, and evaluating training results.
Distance Education Department
In line with the Institute's overall plan and development strategy,
the Distance Education Department works at exploring markets for
distance education, developing distance learning courses, organizing
and managing distance education, establishing databases of teachers,
teaching materials, and other resources, and engaging in related
research and academic administration. The Institute spares no
effort in providing high quality distance learning courses of
various levels and forms for its clients in different financial
fields such as accounting, evaluation, tax and finance.
The Distance Education Department now has three centers, namely:
Distance Education Management Center, Distance Education Research
and Development Center, and Distance Education Technical Support
Center. The Department has joined the Global Development and Learning
Network of the World Bank (GDLN), and thus is responsible for
the management of Distance Learning Center (DLC) in Shanghai National
Accounting Institute.
Marketing Department
As a continuing education base for senior financial managers,
SNAI defines its mission as developing into a world-class accounting
institute with innovative educational modes.
The Marketing Department, in conjunction with other departments,
is committed to offering continuing educational programs including
degreed programs and short-term training in the operation model
of a business school. Examples of this commitment include the
professional qualification for CFOs, an EMBA program and short-term
public courses tailored to expand the capabilities of senior financial
managers.
Information Centre
The Information Center is responsible for planning and managing
the SNAI websites, handling the weak current system, setting up
information network and managing the library. The Information
Center consists of two parts: Websites Administration Center and
Internet Information Center.
Office of General Affairs
Office of General Affairs deals with overall on-campus administrative
affairs and receptions. It is divided into five sections: President's
Office (PO), Human Resources (HR), Financial Affairs (FA), Logistics
(LO) and Service Center (SC). Below is a brief description of
their respective areas of responsibility:
PO --administrative affairs and conference receptions
HR --personnel recruitment, salary management, performance assessment
and staff training
FA --financial management
LO --property management, facilities and equipment maintenance,
dining services
SC --teaching materials publishing, student transportation and
accommodations
