SNAI held Forum on 2017 Macroeconomic Outlook
On February 26, the SNAI Forum on "2017 Macroeconomic Outlook", which is the first of a number of forums to come in 2017, was successfully held at SNAI. The forum was chaired by President Li Kouqing and centered on the bewildering economic development trend and the complex domestic and international environment.
The speaker of the forum is Professor Xia Bin, the Chairman of National Economics Foundation, the Honorary Director of the Research Institute of Finance at the Development Research Center of the State Council, and the President of China Chief Economist Forum. He gave a presentation on the global economic outlook at the forum. Over 300 alumni attended the forum.

SNAI faculty wins the 2016 National MPAcc Teaching Case Distinction Award and many cases included in its database
Recently, the Steering Committee of National Professional Accounting Postgraduate Education announced the winners of the 2016 national MPAcc teaching cases, teaching cases of distinction, excellent teaching case organization award. A total of 13 teaching cases from SNAI were included in the database. "Acquisition and Reverse Acquisition: a Case Study of Shanghai Zhixin Electrical Corporation Restructuring" written by Professor Song Deliang, won the Outstanding Teaching Case Award.
"Chinese Enterprise Management Accounting Talent Competency Framework" research team held a working seminar
On March 3, a seminar on the Research Project of the Competency Framework of Management Accounting Talents in Chinese Enterprises convened by Professor Li Kouqing was held at SNAI. Associate Professor Liang Xiaoya of Fudan University and several other experts attended the seminar.
At the seminar, members of the project team introduced the ACCA Competency Framework and the CIMA Professional Qualification Syllabus respectively. Attention was also paid to the design of the project questionnaire during the discussions.
National Leading Tax Talents Intensive Training held at SNAI
From March 6 to March 20, the second intensive training of the fourth batch of national leading tax talents was held at SNAI. A total of 117 leading talents from the national tax system will attend sessions on financial innovation, Internet business, tax reform and strategic leadership.
Shanghai PPP business training workshop held at SNAI
On March 6-8, a training workshop for Shanghai Public-Private Partnership practitioners was held at SNAI. Deputy Director-General of the Finance Department of the Ministry of Finance Dong Degang, and Deputy Director-General of Shanghai Municipal Finance Bureau Wang Lan attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
China is now vigorously developing the PPP model. Against this backdrop, a number of experts on PPP policy regulation, legal services, and business consulting were invited to share their understanding on the PPP model in a multi-dimensional, all-round manner. The workshop would have positive implications for the establishment of a standardized and sustainable PPP model in Shanghai’s business sector.
Assistant Finance Minister Zhao Mingji attends the National Accounting Institutes Working Meeting at SNAI
On March 23, the Working Meeting of National Accounting Institutes (NAIs) was held at SNAI. Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Finance Zhao Mingji attended the meeting and made important instructions. The meeting was chaired by Jia Rong’e, Inspection Commissioner of the Personnel and Education Department of the Ministry of Finance.
The management teams of the three national accounting institutes in Beijing, Shanghai, and Xiamen attended the meeting and made work reports respectively. The Working Rules of the National Accounting Institutes were deliberated at the meeting. Views were exchanged on the central work of better serving public finance and the realization of the development goal of building NAIs into internationally well-known accounting institutes.

SNAI attends the Global Development Learning Network Asia Pacific Regional Meeting 2017
The 2017 Regional Meeting of Global Development Learning Network (GDLN) Asia Pacific, jointly organized by the World Bank's Global Development Learning Network and the Sri Lanka Distance Learning Center, was held in Sri Lanka from March 20 to March 23. About 30 delegates from the GDLN regional centers attended the meeting.
SNAI (AFDI) attended the meeting and participated in the experience sharing and discussion of the GDLN Asia-Pacific business promotion and management, innovation and exploration of sustainable knowledge sharing model and Chinese experience.

SNAI holds the "Management Accounting: Strategic Perspective" training course in collaboration with the Macao Commission of Registered Auditors and Accountants
On March 20-21, the training course on "Management Accounting: Strategic Perspective", co-organized by SNAI in collaboration with the Macao Commission of Registered Auditors and Accountants (CRAC), was held in Macao. SNAI associate professor Tong Chengsheng served as the instructor of the training course. He systematically introduced the theory and practice of management accounting to approximately 110 accounting professionals in Macao, and was well received by the audience.
The EMBA Program Open Class and Forum on Global Economic Outlook held at SNAI
On March 25, the EMBA program open class and forum on global economic outlook, jointly organized by SNAI and the W.P. Carey School of Business of the Arizona State University (ASU), was held at SNAI.
Bart Hobijin, Professor of Economics at ASU, also the former research economist of the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and New York, and Mr. Chen Xiaosheng, Assistant President of Shenwan Hongyuan Securities, who is also a SNAI-ASU EMBA program alumni, delivered keynote speeches respectively.
The two speakers shared their in-depth analysis of the future economic trends from both global and China perspectives, gave their unique interpretations of the global economic development trend based on the "gold mining opportunities" in China's economic development in both short term and long term.


SNAI sets up a special research group on the development goals of National Accounting Institutes
On March 27, SNAI held a meeting to deploy work related to the research project on the development goals of the National Accounting Institutes. The meeting was presided over by President Li Kouqing, and attended by the heads of relevant departments.
President Li conveyed the instructions given by the Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Finance Zhao Mingji at the Working Meeting of the National Accounting Institutes. A research group composed of business departments, research department and Office of the Party Committee as the main members was established.
For the next step, the research group will carry out research focusing on the development goal of "building NAIs into internationally well-known accounting institutes."
The CEO of the ICAEW paid a visit to SNAI
On March 29, a seven-member delegation led by Mr. Michael Izza, Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW), paid a visit to SNAI. President Li Kouqing and VP Liu Qin met with the delegation.
The two sides held in-depth exchanges on several issues of common concern, including the impact of Brexit from Europe Union, the development trend of big data and its applications, the Belt and Road Initiative and the development of accounting, management accounting and its applications, etc.
