AFDI attends 2017 Blended Training Program at KDI School of Public Policy and Management

From October 30 to November 3, the face-to-face training course on "South Korea's Experience on E-government Development" of the 2017 GDLN Blended Training Program jointly launched by the KDI School of Public Policy and Management and the Global Distance Learning Network (GDLN) of the World Bank was held in Seoul, Korea. 

AFDI was invited to attend the training. Delegates from government agencies and academic institutions in 10 economies including Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Uganda, the Philippines, Botswana and Liberia also attended the training.

Core course of Shanghai International Program for Development Evaluation Training held at SNAI

On November 1-3, the core course of Shanghai International Program for Development Evaluation Training (SHIPDET), jointly organized by the Independent Evaluation Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Institute (AFDI), was held at the SNAI. The course mainly covers Evaluation Principles, Project Design and Monitoring Framework (DMF) and its applications. More than 40 participants from 13 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Chinese Central Government as well as the staff members from the ADB's PRC Resident Mission in Beijing took part in the training course.

1st training for the 2nd batch of leading talents in China's assets appraisal sector held at SNAI

From October 26 to November 5, the first intensive training for the second batch of the leading talents in China's assets appraisal sector was successfully conducted at SNAI. 

Zhang Guochun, Party Secretary, Vice President and Secretary General of China Appraisal Society (CAS), gave a lecture titled "Conscientiously Study and Implement the 19th National Congress of the CPC and Strive to Open up New Development Prospects in the Assets Appraisal Sector." 

Yang Songtang, Deputy Secretary General of CAS, Zhao Jin'e, Director of personnel training of CAS, and Lu Wenbin, Vice President of SNAI attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches respectively.

SNAI holds the 5th Annual Forum on Management Accounting 

On November 11, SNAI successfully held its fifth annual forum on "Big Data and Management Accounting Innovation." Representatives from government departments, academia and international organizations responded positively to the guidelines of the Ministry of Finance on "promoting the construction of management accounting system in an all-round way", and discussed the theoretical innovation and practical application of big data following this trend. The event was also broadcasted online, attracting over 2,000 participants in total.

SNAI actively promotes the construction of field study sites 

On November 14, the inauguration ceremony of the field study site jointly built between the SNAI and State Grid Shanghai Electric Power Company was held at State Grid Shanghai Electric Power Company. 

Li Kouqing, President of SNAI, and Zhang Junli, Board Director and General Manager of the State Grid Shanghai Electric Power Company, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches respectively. 

Through the establishment of the field study site, the two sides will further deepen exchanges and cooperate in fields of personnel training and innovative experience development.

Award ceremony of IMA scholarship 2017 held at SNAI

On November 10, the Award Ceremony of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Scholarship 2017 was held at SNAI. 10 international students were awarded the IMA scholarship. Among them, 9 were awarded the Best Academic Performance Award (1st, 2nd, 3rd prizes) and 1 won the Academic Progress Award. The IMA scholarship, set up exclusively for SNAI international students, is sponsored by the IMA to motivate and inspire students to excel at academic performance.

SNAI holds the 3rd Academician Lecture 

On November 14, SNAI successfully held its third "Academician Lecture". Chen Xiangbao, a famous expert in composite material science in China, who is also an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering and an expert in aviation and aerospace, gave the SNAI faculty and students a lecture on the material science and its development. Chen, using a scientist's sense of rigor, conscientiousness and vision, inspired the audience to lead the sustainable and healthy development of the accounting profession in the same spirit.

SNAI, ACCA, Korn Ferry jointly launches China Best CFO Leadership Award

Recently, at the ACCA CFO Summit 2017, President Li Kouqing and Managing Director of Korn Ferry Gu Wei jointly announced the official launch of the "China Best CFO Leadership Award" by the SNAI, ACCA and Korn Ferry. The award is set up to draw the public's attention to CFO leadership during the era of big change, leading the direction for enterprise reform and transformation.

12th Yangtze River Delta Graduate Academic Forum held at SNAI

The 12th Yangtze River Delta Graduate Academic Forum, sponsored by Shanghai Accounting Society and organized by the SNAI, was successfully held on November 20 at SNAI. The theme of the Forum is "the Belt and Road Initiative and Accounting Transformation and Development." It brought together over 200 experts, scholars and graduate students from 24 universities to discuss and exchange ideas on this theme. Vice President Liu Qin attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Training course on "Public-Private Partnerships: Experience of China" held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

On November 13-15, the training course on "Public-Private Partnerships: the Experience of China" co-sponsored by AFDI and the Economic and Financial Institute (EFI) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Cambodia was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. 

More than 30 officials at the director-general level from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the other central ministries of Cambodia attended the training. 

Dr. Hean Sahib, Secretary of State, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Cambodia, and Dr. Lu Wenbin, Vice President of SNAI (AFDI) attended the opening ceremony and delivered opening remarks respectively.

First training for high-end talents in appraisal sector in Henan, Shanghai, Ningxia held at SNAI

Recently, the first intensive training of the high-end talent training program for the appraisal sector in Henan, Shanghai and Ningxia was successfully concluded at SNAI. A total of 52 high-end professionals from the three provinces and municipalities participated in the training. It is the first time to conduct an integrated training program across different regions, aiming to promote mutual exchange and peer learning in the assets appraisal sector among different regions. Wan Zhongzhi, secretary general of Henan Assets Appraisal Association, and Gai Zhong, secretary general of Ningxia Institute of Certified Public Accountants attended the opening ceremony.

SNAI holds the first Alumni Day events

On November 25, SNAI held its first Alumni Day events, consisting of "Speeches by SNAI Alumni", "Talk with Senior Graduates," "Sit Face-to-Face with the Future Financial Leaders," and "Building a Culture of Integrity," and etc. About 600 graduates came back to SNAI to participate in the activities. President Li Kouqing gave a keynote speech on "Being Mission-Driven whilst Adapting to Changing Times" and unveiled the SNAI Educational Development Fund together with a number of alumni representatives.

SNAI international students visit Inspur Group Shanghai Company for field study

On November 27, SNAI organized a field study trip for its international students to visit Inspur Group Shanghai Company. Students also attended a lecture on "management accounting and enterprise big data" there. By the field visit and attending the lecture, students gained an in-depth understanding of the achievements made by Inspur Group and the China at large in information technology, and also the transformation and development of management accounting in the big data era.
