President Li Kouqing publishes New Year Address 2018

On the New Year's Eve, President Li Kouqing published his New Year Address to all the students, trainees, alumni, faculty and staff of SNAI via its official website, Micro-blog and WeChat accounts. In the Address, Li reflected on the achievements SNAI made in the past year and shared SNAI's aspiration for 2018. In 2018, SNAI will remain true to its original aspiration and firmly keep in mind its mission to push forward transformation and upgrading by quality development. 

President of Vietnamese Institute of Financial Training visits SNAI

A delegation of experts from the Institute of Financial Training of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam led by its president Hoang Tran Hau paid a visit to SNAI/AFDI on Dec. 29. President Li Kouqing and staff members from Regional Capacity Building Department II participated in the meeting. The two organizations reviewed the bilateral capacity building programs conducted in 2017 and discussed the work plans to be carried out in 2018, centering on themes including transfer pricing, public expenditure performance evaluation, E-commerce, and special economic zones and economic development areas development.

SNAI kicks off project application of National Social Science and Natural Science Foundation in 2018

SNAI recently started the application processes of National Social Science and Natural Science Foundation projects in accordance with the relevant notice of National Philosophy and Social Science Planning Office and National Natural Science Foundation. SNAI will take into consideration both the current needs of major significance at the national level, SNAI's discipline construction, and faculty's interests and advantages in research during the application process. 

SNAI gets good results in National Postgraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling 

One of SNAI's full-time graduate students won the third-prize and two won participation awards in the 14th Huawei Cup National Postgraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling held by the Degree and Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education recently. The Contest, which is listed as one of the graduate education innovation programs of the Ministry of Education, is a nationwide scientific competition event for students pursuing their postgraduate studies. This is the first time SNAI graduate students participate in and win awards at the Contest. 

SNAI full-time postgraduates win CMA scholarship 2018

Three full-time Chinese postgraduates of Grade 2016 of SNAI won the CMA scholarship recently. The Scholarship was set up by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) to encourage college students to join the management accounting profession to bridge the skills gap of corporate financial officers' team. So far, 13 SNAI postgraduates have won the CMA Scholarship.

SNAI gains a new professional master program in Finance 

On Jan. 8, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council released the list of newly-established master and PhD degree programs and the institutes conferring the degrees. SNAI's new professional degree program of Master of Finance is included in the list. 

SNAI launches promotion of the Qingnengpuzhuo Program

On Jan. 5 and Jan. 6, SNAI in cooperation with Qingpu District of Shanghai Municipality launched a promotion and outreach event to push forward the Qingpu Enterprise Employee Vocational Training and Regional Vocational Capacity Building Program (i.e. Qingnengpuzhuo Program) in accordance with the strategic cooperation agreement signed between SNAI and Qingpu District of Shanghai Municipality in 2017. 22 promotional events will be organized in January to introduce policy background, resources and courses all over the Qingpu District.

SNAI-Qingpu Strategic Cooperation on Talents Cultivation included in the government work report of Qingpu District of the two sessions 2018

The third session of the 5th People's Congress of Qingpu District was held on Jan 16. During the session, Xia Kejia, chief administrator of Qingpu District delivered the government work report on behalf of the People's Government of Qingpu District. The Vocational Training Program undertaken by SNAI is listed as a major move by Qingpu District in optimizing innovation and entrepreneurship in 2017 in its work report.

SNAI international students visit Nantong for field study

29 international students of Grade 2017 went to Nantong City, Jiangsu Province for a field study recently. They visited Nantong Museum, China Audit Museum, Nantong Municipal Administration of Taxation, Jiangsu Bermo Home Textile Technology Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Dasheng Group Co., Ltd. The field study gave the international students a good opportunity to learn and explore China's history, culture and tradition, to gain insights on the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry, and to understand better China's taxation and auditing systems.

SNAI holds a training workshop on OKS

Recently, a training workshop on Organizational Knowledge Sharing (OKS) was held by SNAI. 16 staff members of SNAI as well as 2 employees from the National Convention and Exhibition Center participated in the training. They gained insights on OKS and built up capacity by learning the OKS capacity framework, steps of knowledge assets capturing, the art of knowledge exchange and effective ways of learning design. 

SNAI holds its Annual Work Conference 2017

SNAI held its annual year-end work conference on Jan 25 at its International Conference Center. President Li Kouqing, Vice Presidents Liu Qin and Lu Wenbin, Assistant President Yi Hongxun and all the faculty and staff attended the conference. Heads of 13 departments reported on the work accomplished in 2017.

President Li Kouqing attends Summit on China's Accounting Services and Innovation in the New Era

The Summit on China's Accounting Services and Innovation in the New Era, jointly organized by China Accounting News, Shanghai National Accounting Institute, Central University of Finance and Economics, and Southeast University, was held in Nanjing on Jan. 22. President Li Kouqing delivered a keynote speech entitled Driving Quality Economic Development by Providing Quality and Innovative Accounting Services.

Vice President Liu Qin visits Shenzhen CPA Association

A delegation led by Vice President Liu Qin visited Shenzhen Certified Public Accountants Association recently. Secretary General of the Association Liu Xuesheng and several other leaders attended the meeting. The two organizations exchanged ideas on distance training, short-term face-to-face training, Executive MPAcc program and high-level forums. 

GDLN’s Board Chairman Glenn Withers visits SNAI/AFDI

Prof. Glenn Withers, the newly-appointed Chairman of the Board of the Global Development Learning Network (GDLN) who is also a professor at Australia National University paid a visit to SNAI/AFDI recently. He was joined by Prof Zhang Lun from Tongji University. The two sides discussed about the latest developments in GDLN business, next steps for the year ahead and ways to deepen cooperation. 

EMPAcc Open Course held in Shenzhen

The EMPAcc Open Course on Decoding Value Investment in 2018, which was jointly sponsored by SNAI, Shenzhen CPA Association, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, supported by CIMA, ICAEW and Australia CPA, was held in Shenzhen on Jan. 20. Prof Wu Yuwu from the School of Accounting of the Chinese University of Hong Kong served as the core instructor of this open course.
