主题：次贷危机与战略风险管理

The credit crunch began in August 2007 with other notable dates being a run on the UK bank Northern Rock in September 2007 and the collapse of Lehmans on September 15^th 2008.  The latter crystallised the financial crisis and led to a severe lack of confidence and trust in the markets, and between banks, which then had major impacts on the real economy.  The crisis still continues and the inevitable enquiries, analyses and consultations have begun. Richard Mallett will draw on these to see what lessons can be gained for:

·          Explain the nature of strategic risk

·          Review some learnings from the current crisis

·          Review the use of risk and performance management to avoid swings from ‘irrational exuberance’ to ‘reckless caution’

主讲人及简介：Richard Mallett, Technical Director, CIMA Innovation and Development

Profile:  Richard Mallett joined the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in January 2001.  He is responsible for CIMA’s Technical Agenda including responses to consultations and promoting CIMA’s profile through the development of new tools and techniques.  As examples, Richard has appeared in front of the UK Treasury Select Committee on behalf of the profession, presented at several international conferences and been instrumental in the development of concepts such as Enterprise Governance and the CIMA Strategic Scorecard.  He is also the Technical Adviser to the UK member of the Professional Accountants in Business Committee of the International Federation of Accountants.

Richard has an extensive commercial background stretching over 20 years having held senior appointments in three FTSE 100 companies – J Sainsbury (as Group Financial Controller, previously Group Treasurer), Reed International (as Corporate Finance Manager)  and Boots plc (as a senior economist).
