Introduction to the presenter:
Narayanan Vaidyanathan, Head of Business Insights, ACCA
Narayanan leads a team of research and policy experts working on a range of topics relevant to the accountancy profession. He is personally involved with the impact of technology on accountancy, and represents ACCA across a range of topics in this area. These include emerging technologies like Blockchain, more mature areas like robotic process automation (RPA) and data analytics, as well as the role of ethics and human emotions in a technology led digital age.
He is an experienced strategist and has advised board level stakeholders on future implications, opportunities and risks of technology. He represents ACCA on government, industry and academic forums, for example as a member of the steering committee on the Technology and Data Ethics Inquiry within an All Party Parliamentary Group in the UK.
He has a global remit for the topics he covers and leads a team of subject-matter specialists with diverse skills. In addition to technology, other areas of thought leadership conducted within his team relate to economic analyses, business models, sustainability, social mobility, as well as sector specific insights, in relation to the public sector, financial services and oil and gas.
Narayanan was educated at the University of Oxford and London Business School.
