ZHANG Gexing

ZHANG Gexing serves as Vice President of the Shanghai National Accounting Institute. He is a professor and master's supervisor, and also serves as Executive Director of the Research Center for Modern Industrial Development. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Fudan University and was a visiting scholar at Arizona State University. He was selected for the first batch of the Ministry of Finance's Macro Research Talent Pool. He concurrently serves as Standing Director of the Chinese Society of Industrial Economics, Standing Director of the Chinese Institute of Business Administration, and a member of the Industry Talent Working Committee of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Prof. Zhang has long been engaged in teaching and research in industrial economics and industrial policy, as well as game theory and its applications, and has extensive practical management experience. The Research Center for Modern Industrial Development, which he leads, serves as a platform that integrates industry, academia, and research and has established extensive and close ties with policy-making bodies such as the Ministry of Finance, as well as the business community. He has worked closely with the General Office, the Policy Research Office, the Department of Economic Construction, and the Department of International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Finance, as well as the Shanghai Administration of Policy Financing Guarantee Funds for SMEs, in conducting policy research. He has led or participated in more than ten projects funded by the National Social Science Fund of China, provincial and ministerial-level projects, and major horizontal research projects. The project he led, jointly constructed by the ministry and the province, was rated as excellent. Multiple research outputs were selected for inclusion in the Information Briefing of the Ministry of Finance and reported to the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council, and were later adopted. He has published more than 20 papers in leading Chinese and international journals, including International Review of Economics & Finance, China Industrial Economics, Accounting Research, and Journal of Finance and Economics. His main research interests include industrial development and public policy, the private sector and SME development, digital and green transition of enterprises, and game theory and its applications.
