SNAI 2017 postgraduate enrollment and second examination successfully concluded


From March 30 to April 1, SNAI 2017 postgraduate enrollment and second examination was held and successfully concluded at SNAI. Adhering to the principle of being efficient, fair and transparent, after rigorous qualification examination, written examination and interview, based on the ranking of the total score of the first exam and second exam, while considering the candidate’s choice in the application form, 49 MPAcc candidates (full-time), 29 MPAcc candidates (part-time), 29 MAud candidates (full-time), and 17 MT candidates (full-time) are admitted by SNAI. The publicity period is from April 1, 2017 to April 18, 2017.






SNAI Publication: "Towards a Competent CFO: China CFO Competency Framework 2016" 


SNAI Publication titled "Towards a Competent CFO: China CFO Competency Framework 2016" is officially published recently. Adopting the mixed methods of empirical research and normative research, SNAI Research Team on China CFO Competency Framework investigated the status quo of CFOs as well as financial management in China by conducting questionnaire survey. Drawing on the advanced experiences from abroad, the book constructs Chinese CFO Competency Framework from a functional perspective, and puts forward measures for implementing the CFO competency framework. The book hopes to improve the capacity of Chinese CFOs and to support the development of the CFO profession in China.




SNAI international students attend the lecture on "Inside the Mind of the Asian CFO" 


On March 29, a delegation of senior experts from Russell Reynolds Associates (RRA) comprising of Ric Roi, leader of RRA’s leadership and succession practice for Asia Pacific, Alex Zhang, member of the leadership and succession team, and Tao Li, member of the industrial and natural resource sector, visited SNAI and gave a lecture to SNAI’s 40-odd international students on the topic of "Inside the Mind of the Asian CFO." 


Based on Russell Reynolds’ specialized research on CFO, three experts introduced systematically the leadership and behavioral attributes of the Asian CFO that would have an impact on their career success, and compared the Asian CFO with CFO in other parts of the world. 


The international students actively exchanged opinions and interacted with experts on various questions of career development and growth path during the Q&A session that follows the presentation.





DG Ayumi Konishi kicks off the first of a series of ADB lectures on development for SNAI 2016 international students


The first lecture of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Lecture Series on Development 2017 was given by Director-General of East Asia Regional Department of the ADB Mr. Ayumi Konishi on April 6. President Li Kouqing moderated this very first session. 25 international students attended the session.


In the first lecture, Mr. Ayumi Konishi gave a presentation themed “Role of Multilateral Development Banks in a Developing Country’s Growth Process: a Case Study of ADB-PRC Partnership”. He gave an overview of the historical development of ADB-PRC partnership and its evolution, ADB's sovereign lending business in China and major shifts in its projects in China over the past three decades.


During the next two to three months, the ADB will send more than 10 senior officials and economists to share their knowledge and experience on international development with SNAI 2016 international students. The topics of the lecture series include ADB-PRC partnership, green urban development and green finance, transport, water resources management, trade facilitation, ecosystem restoration, inclusion and gender equality, China-Mongolia cooperation, and so on. 

The ADB Lecture Series on Development is a key project under the Regional Knowledge Sharing Initiative (RKSI) of the ADB and also an important area of cooperation between ADB and AFDI. 




SNAI holds the first "Academician Lecture" 


To cultivate compound accounting talents, initiated by President Li Kouqing, SNAI held its first "Academician Lecture" successfully on April 12. 


Professor Li Jian’an was invited to give the first lecture. He is a member of the US National Academy of Medicine, and director of Rehabilitation Medicine Center at Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital. 

The lecture, which is themed "Healthy China 2030 and the Rehabilitation Dream", attracted more than 400 participants on the campus sharing knowledge and practice in the field of rehabilitation medicine.





Training workshop on Intellectual Poverty Alleviation in Finance and Securities held at SNAI


To accelerate the pace of reform and innovation in rural finance and to do a good job on poverty alleviation in the field of finance as advocated by the Central Government, SNAI has organized a training workshop on "Intellectual Poverty Alleviation in Finance and Securities" in cooperation with Huajin Securities recently. 


The training workshop attracted nearly 50 participants from various government departments and enterprises in Inner Mongolia, Guizhou, Guangxi, Yunnan, and Tibet. Yang Zhihai, the Director of Poverty Alleviation Office, China Securities Regulatory Commission, attended the opening ceremony.


The workshop, being the first of its kind in intellectual poverty alleviation in the securities sector, namely by cultivating financial professionals for poverty-stricken areas, has attracted extensive media attention in China. Over 20 media, including Oriental Finance, has conducted intensive media coverage on the training.




Shanghai International Development Evaluation Training Program Spring Offering 2017 held at SNAI


On April 17-20, the Shanghai International Development Evaluation Training Program (SHIPDET) Spring Offering, jointly organized by the Ministry of Finance, Independent Evaluation Group of the World Bank, Independent Evaluation Department of the Asian Development Bank, and the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Institute (AFDI) was held at SNAI. 


Experts from the ADB, International Fund for Agricultural Development, Central University of Finance and Economics, and China Agricultural University are invited as the main instructors of the training program. The training covers the theory and practice of development evaluation, the operation and practice of the performance evaluation of the international financial institution loan projects, and is well received by the participants.




 

China Financial Publishing & Media Group cooperates with SNAI on distance educational programs


On April 14, a delegation led by Zhou Faxing, Chairman of China Financial Publishing & Media Group, visited SNAI. President Li Kouqing, VP Liu Qin, Assistant President Yi Hongxun met with the visiting guests. The two sides held in-depth discussions on the complementary business areas of cooperation, and then signed a cooperation agreement on distance educational programs.




The Inspur Group Enterprise Financial Sharing Summit held at SNAI


On April 26, the Inspur Group Enterprise Financial Sharing Summit, which is themed "New Finance, Great Sharing" was held at SNAI. More than 300 business representatives attended the summit. 


At the summit, the Inspur Group fully demonstrated the pathways, product support and best practices for enterprise groups to make innovations in their financial management in the great era of sharing. 


President Li Kouqing attended the forum and made a special report on "New Finance, New Economy."




The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (CIMA-AICPA) visits SNAI


On April 19, a delegation of eight experts from the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (CIMA-AICPA), led by Noel Tagoe, Executive Director of CIMA-AICPA Education, and Irene Teng, Executive Director for Europe, Asia, Africa markets, visited SNAI. 


President Li Kouqing and the SNAI Research Team on Management Accounting Talents Competency Framework met with the guests. The two sides held talks on the competency framework research of management accounting talents in Chinese enterprises, among other issues.


Dr. Noel Tagoe was also invited to give two days’ lectures on the theory and practice of management accounting to SNAI 2016 international students on April 18-19.





The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) visits SNAI


On April 24, Marc Palker, Chair-Emeritus of the Global Board of Directors of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), Jim Gurowka, Senior Vice President, and Bai Junjiang, Director of IMA Asia Pacific, visited SNAI. 


President Li Kouqing met with the delegation. The two sides held talks on the latest developments and challenges in management accounting. Following the talk, an interview with Marc Palker was conducted by the China Accounting Website of SNAI.




Training Course for 2017 National CICPA Inspectors held at SNAI


On April 26, 110 inspectors from the local institutes of Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA) throughout China attended the three-day training program at SNAI. 


2017 is the year of "quality improvement" in the Chinese CPA sector. The training focused on how to consolidate the accomplishments of reform of quality review system in the practice of CPA firms, how to strengthen supervision of the National Equities Exchange and Quotations and other highly-risky business fields, and how to enhance the rectification of inspected firms. 


Liang Liqun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of CICPA, and Yin Dequan, Director of the Inspection Department of CICPA, attended the opening ceremony.
