Recently, a training workshop on "Special Economic Zones (SEZs) as catalysts for Economic Corridors, Value Chains and Production Network" co-sponsored by the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Institute (AFDI) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) took place at the SNAI. SNAI President Li Kouqing, and Aradhna Aggarwal, who is an ADB specialist and also a professor at Copenhagen Business School attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. 29 mid-to-senior level government officials from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and other ASEAN countries attended the training.

Chinese translation of "Managerial Economics and Business Strategy" published
Recently, the Chinese translation of "Management Economics and Business Strategy (8th Edition)" translated by Associate Professor Wang Qin of the Teaching and Research Department of SNAI was published by China Renmin University Press. This book is a classic textbook on management economics and is widely used in western countries. It is written by Professor Michael R. Baye and Jeffrey T. Prince of the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University of the USA. The book is a good textbook for students pursuing MBA, MPA and other professional degrees, and also a good reference book for business professionals with managerial and leadership roles.
SNAI holds "Hello, China" thematic cultural activity for its international students
On October 1, more than 50 international students from 11 developing countries along the "Belt and Road" participated in the "Hello, China" thematic cultural activity at the SNAI. By watching the documentary of the Palace Museum, trying their hands at paper-cutting, taking part in a collage competition, SNAI's international students got a hands-on experience of the traditional Chinese culture. The activity is covered by ThePaper.cn, an influential Chinese media platform focusing on current affairs and original ideas.
SNAI EMBA Program ranked 39th globally
On October 16, the Financial Times released its 2017 list of the top 100 EMBA programs in the world. The SNAI EMBA Program in finance track, conducted by the SNAI in cooperation with the W.P. Carrey School of Business of the Arizona State University of the United States, is ranked the 39th globally. It is the only Sino-foreign cooperative EMBA program featuring Chinese as the medium of instruction in the Financial Times' top 100 EMBA Program list.
SNAI sets up PPP Research and Cooperation Center
Recently, AFDI Institute of Finance has become a member of the PPP Academic Alliance at the invitation of the Alliance, which is initiated by the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Research Center at Peking University. To further strengthen the exchange and cooperation with other PPP research institutions and to exert and expand its strength, SNAI sets up a PPP Research and Cooperation Center. The Center will conduct research on PPP and related fields, compile domestic and overseas cases on PPP, and provide intellectual support for PPP-related trainings.
ICAEW delegation visits SNAI
Recently, a delegation led by Ross Campbell, director of public sector at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), visited SNAI to exchange views on the SNAI-ICAEW joint research project on management accounting. During his stay, Mr. Ross Campbell also gave a lecture entitled "Professional Accountancy in Government: Building a World of Strong Economies" for 2017 International Students.
President Li Kouqing attends the 2017 CLEAR Global Forum in South Africa
From October 21 to October 23, the Global Forum of the Centers for Learning on Evaluation and Results (CLEAR) of the World Bank was held in Johannesburg, South Africa. More than 30 delegates from CLEAR's six global regional centers, CLEAR donors, CLEAR Secretariat at the World Bank as well as CLEAR external experts attended the forum.
President Li Kouqing attended the forum on behalf of the CLEAR-SHIPDET Center at AFDI, China, which is also the regional CLEAR center in East Asia. He presented on the progress of performance evaluation in China and the work undertaken by the Center in the past year and participated in discussions on related issues.
SNAI launches accounting doctoral program in collaboration with SUFE
Recently, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE) released its 2018 doctoral program enrollment guide, in which the "SNAI-SUFE Cooperative Doctoral Program in Accounting" is listed as a separate research direction. The issuance marked the official launch of the joint doctoral program in accounting between SNAI and SUFE. Five professors at SNAI with the qualifications of being part-time doctoral tutors at SUFE starts to recruit doctoral students of this joint doctoral program in accounting.
The 6th i-SNAI Management Accounting Salon held at SNAI
On October 21, the 6th i-SNAI Management Accounting Salon was held at the SNAI. Li Tong, co-founder and senior vice president of Beijing Yuannian Science and Technology Co., Ltd., who is also a specialist on management accounting information technology in China, and Wu Yilun, CFO of the distribution center of Sinopharm Group, who is also a part-time master tutor of SNAI, shared with many SNAI alumni on the topics of “financial sharing and management accounting in the smart era” and “cost management in pharmaceutical companies” respectively.
SNAI National LATP Program (Reserve) & Special Support Program Participants attends National LATP Graduation Event
On November 1, the graduation event of National Leading Accounting Talents Program (LATP) was held in Xiamen National Accounting Institute. Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Finance Zhao Mingji attended the graduation event and delivered a speech. 51 trainees of the 6th cohort of National LATP Program (Reserve) and 7 trainees of the 1st cohort of LATP Special Support Program, who were trained by SNAI, attended the graduation event and graduated from the program successfully.
2017 Seminar on Tax Collection and Taxpayer Services in Latin America and Middle East held at SNAI
Recently, the Seminar on Tax Collection and Taxpayer Services for Latin America and the Middle East in 2017, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, co-organized by the State Administration of Taxation and the SNAI, was held at SNAI. More than a dozen tax officials from Dominica, Ecuador, Panama and Sri Lanka participated in the study.
Research project on competency framework of management accounting talents in Chinese enterprises successfully completed
On November 3, the project completion and appraisal meeting of the second batch of special research projects on management accounting of the Ministry of Finance was held at the Academy of Fiscal Sciences. President Li Kouqing attended the meeting and briefed on the research project of the competency framework of management accounting talents undertaken by SNAI. The project aims to build the competency framework of management accounting talents in Chinese enterprises.
