The selection results of the 13th cohort of National Leading Accounting (Reserve) Talents Program in the corporate setting released

On December 5, the final selection results of the 13th cohort of the National Leading Accounting (Reserve) Talents Program in the corporate setting were released on the website of the Ministry of Finance. A total of 60 participants were admitted to the Program after going through written examination, qualification review, and interview processes, and they will receive the training at the SNAI over the next six years.

SNAI faculty's view on US tax reform covered by Shanghai Financial News

On December 5, Shanghai Financial News published an article titled "How will the U.S. Tax Reform Affect the Chinese Economy," in which Dr. Ge Yuyu's viewpoints was included. Dr. Ge believes that the U.S. tax reform will have a notable "spillover effect" on our country, and it will speed up our reform process in the taxation system, capital market, industrial structure, and etc. We should take this as a new starting point to deepen the reform and actively carry out international competition and cooperation.

SNAI serves as the executive member of "Smiling Clover" Volunteers Union

Recently, the "Smiling Clover" Volunteers Union Inauguration Ceremony was held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai). SNAI, as an executive member of the Volunteers Union, attended the ceremony. Since the establishment of the SNAI Volunteers Team in 2013, SNAI has organized a total of 214 volunteers and provided 1,285 hours of voluntary services for many large-scale exhibitions and public events, such as the International Auto Show, Medical Equipment Expo, etc. SNAI has won several municipal level honorary titles and awards for its excellent voluntary services, such as "Shanghai Outstanding Volunteers."

Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Cambodia attends the training course on Public-Private Partnership (PPP): the Experiences of China

From December 4 to December 8, the Sino-Cambodian Capacity Building Program for Finance Officers on Public-Private Partnership (PPP): the Experiences of China, jointly organized by the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Institute (AFDI) and the Economy and Finance Institute (EFI) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Cambodia was successfully held at SNAI. Dr. Hean Sahib, Secretary of State and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Cambodia, and Dr. Li Kouqing, President of SNAI (AFDI) attended the opening ceremony and delivered opening remarks respectively. More than 20 officials at Director General level from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and other ministries of Cambodia participated in the training.

President Li Kouqing visits the Asian Development Bank

President Li Kouqing together with several SNAI (AFDI) staff recently paid a visit to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at its invitation. The delegation visited Office of the PRC Executive Director at ADB, East Asia Department, Independent Evaluation Department, Southeast Asia Department, South Asia Department, Central and West Asia Department, Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department, and Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department of ADB, and held talks around a number of cooperative programs to be carried out by two sides in 2018 in the field of development evaluation, economic corridor and the development of special economic zones, etc.

Vice President Liu Qin attends the CPA Australia Forum

On December 8, Vice President Liu Qin was invited to attend and speak at the CPA Australia Forum. The theme of the forum is: New Opportunities for Chinese Enterprises' Overseas Investment, Mergers and Acquisitions under the New System of Open Economy. During the forum, Liu Qin exchanged views with Jeff Hughes, Chief Operating Officer of CPA Australia, and  Richard Coote, Deputy Consul-General of the Australian Consulate-General in Shanghai.

SNAI, Guangxi University of Finance and Economics co-builds a field study site

On December 12, the SNAI Field Study Site jointly built between SNAI and Guangxi University of Finance and Economics (GXUFE) was unveiled at GXUFE. Yi Hongxun, Assistant President of SNAI, and Zeng Fanping, Vice President of GXUFE attended the ceremony. Both sides will take the establishment of this field study site as an opportunity to deepen their international students' understanding of China, display the achievements of China's reform and opening up and the Belt & Road Initiative, demonstrate Guangxi's achievements in poverty reduction and harmonious development among multi-ethnic groups, and to build a platform for Guangxi's cooperation with ASEAN and the international community at large.

Associate Professor Ye Xiaojie admitted to the 7th cohort of National Leading Accounting (Reserve) Talents Program - Academic Category

After several assessment processes including written examination, qualification review, and interview, the results of the 7th cohort of National Leading Accounting (Reserve) Talents Program - Academic Category were made public by the Ministry of Finance recently. SNAI Associate Professor Ye Xiaojie of the Teaching and Research Department was admitted to the Program. Dr. Ye is the third SNAI faculty member admitted to the Program following Dr. Lu Wenbin and Professor Li Yingqi.

President Li Kouqing attends the annual forum of AICPA-CIMA

On December 15, President Li Kouqing was invited to attend the CGMA Annual Awards & CFO Summit 2017, and served as an academic commentator for the Roundtable: Leading Business Model Transformation with Management Accounting. On top of the experience sharing of all the speakers, President Li elaborated on the development of management accounting drawing on the results of the fifth SNAI Forum on Management Accounting.

Vice President Liu Qin visits France and Spain to tap potential for cooperation on EDP and postgraduate programs

From December 10 to December 17, Vice President Liu Qin led a delegation to France and Spain to tap possible cooperation on EDP and postgraduate programs. The delegation visited INSEEC, NMW Law Firm in France, and the University of Jaume I and the Royal Institute of Architectural Design in Spain, and conducted in-depth exchanges on potential cooperation areas such as EDP in finance and postgraduate education.

SNAI sets up the Research Center of Government Procurement and Performance Management & holds a Seminar on Performance Evaluation of Government Purchase of Services

On December 15, the inauguration ceremony of the Research Center of Government Procurement and Performance Management as well as the Seminar on Performance Evaluation of Government Purchase of Services, sponsored by SNAI and co-organized by the Research Center of Government Procurement and Performance Management and the Shanghai Huishi Investment Management Co., Ltd. was held at SNAI. President Li was present at the ceremony and presented letters of appointment to the first batch of researchers at the Research Center. Vice President Lu Wenbin delivered remarks on behalf of the SNAI and presided over the signing ceremony.

AFDI holds training workshops on Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and Developing E-commerce for Central Asian countries 

From December 18 to December 22, the training workshops on Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and on Developing E-commerce, co-organized by the AFDI, the Asian Development Bank and the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Institute, were held at the SNAI. More than 30 government officials from Central Asian countries including Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan attended the training. The training centered around the institutional framework of PPP, developing cross-border e-commerce and etc.

Recently, National Leading Accounting Talents' Journey to Luzhou & 2017 Sichuan Provincial Forum on the Application of Management Accounting, jointly organized by Shanghai National Accounting Institute, Sichuan Provincial Department of Finance and China Accounting News, was held in Sichuan. Lu Wenbin, Vice President of SNAI, Liu Xiufeng, Director of Accounting Division, Sichuan Provincial Department of Finance, Chen Qinghua, Editor-in-chief of China Accounting News, and Wang Hongbo, Executive Deputy General Manager of Luzhou Laojiao Co., Ltd. attended the event.

Assistant President Yi Hongxun visits the Lao Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of Lao PDR

At the invitation of the Lao Ministry of Finance, a delegation led by Assistant President Yi Hongxun visited the Lao Ministry of Finance, Institute of Economics and Finance, Bank of Lao PDR (Lao central bank), Banking Institute, and National Institute for Economic Research during December 18-22, 2017. Several talks were held between SNAI and these institutions on jointly organizing bilateral capacity building activities in the areas of accounting and finance to lay the foundation for future cooperation between the sides.

SNAI-CUHK EMPAcc Program passed the evaluation of the Ministry of Education on Sino-foreign Cooperative Educational Programs in 2017

Recently, the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education published the Notice on Notifying the Evaluation Results and Follow-up Work of Sino-foreign Cooperative Educational Institutions and Programs in 2017. The Executive MPAcc Program jointly conducted by SNAI and the Chinese University of Hong Kong passed the evaluation.

SNAI attends the 2017 Shanghai Municipal Course Construction Meeting for Courses Instructed in English for International Students in Shanghai's Higher Learning Institutions

On December 25, the 2017 Shanghai Municipal Course Construction Meeting for Courses Instructed in English for International Students in Shanghai's Higher Learning Institutions, convened by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, was held at Shanghai Jiaotong University. President Li Kouqing and several staff members from the Regional Capacity Building Department II attended the meeting and conducted in-depth discussions on relevant issues.

SNAI holds the Graduate Cultural Festival

On December 26, the SNAI Graduate Cultural Festival, hosted by the Graduate Department and organized by the Graduate Students' Union, was held on the campus.
