SNAI alumna appointed Deputy Minister of Ministry of Financeand Development Planning of Liberia

Recently good news came that Rebecca YoungerMcGill, a member of Class of 2017 of SNAI/AFDI's MPAcc Program for DevelopingCountries, was appointed Deputy Minister for Administration, Ministry ofFinance and Development Planning, Republic of Liberia, by its President GeorgeM. Weah.

The big news implies that SNAI/AFDI has madesome initial accomplishments in its international MPAcc program. SNAI willcontinue, under the guidance and support of the Ministry of Finance andMinistry of Commerce of PRC, its efforts to run this program to better servethe Belt & Road Initiative and China's foreign aid strategy.

Vice President of ADB Wencai Zhang gives a lecture at SNAI

Vice President of the Asian Development Bank(ADB) Wencai Zhang gave a lecture entitled "Regional Economic Cooperationin Asia and the Pacific: Present and Future" to SNAI's internationalstudents and its faculty during his visit to SNAI/AFDI on April 11.

The lecture was chaired by President KouqingLi. It mainly covered (i) an outlook for Asia and the Pacific’s economicdevelopment, (ii) the opportunities and challenges to regional cooperation andintegration, (iii) the role of ADB in regional cooperation and integration, and(iv) next steps.

SNAI-ASU EMBA Open Course on Mobile Economy and Big Data heldat SNAI

SNAI-ASU EMBA Open Course 2018 on MobileEconomy and Big Data was held at SNAI on April 1. Anindya Ghose, Heinz RiehlChair Professor of Business, NYU Stern School, and Fengwei Liu, AssociateProfessor of SNAI were invited to give a talk on "Using ArtificialIntelligence to Unlock the $3 Trillion Mobile Economy" and "Data-drivenOrganization and Management" respectively. The activity was chaired byProf. Bin Gu, Vice Dean, W.P. Carey School of Business, Arizona StateUniversity. Prof Qin Liu, Vice President of SNAI, delivered opening remarks. Itattracted over 300 participants from 17 countries.

Prof. Yongqing Guo'smonograph "Managerial Accounting Practice" published

Recently, amonograph entitled "Managerial Accounting Practice: A Panoramic View"written by Prof. Yongqing Guo from SNAI's Teaching and Research Department ispublished by China Machine Press. The book examines many important topicsincluding corporate strategic planning, major decision-making, operationalprocess control, performance evaluation. 

SNAI holds the firsttraining workshop on performance fulfillment for the 13th Jiangxi Provincial People'sCongress Deputies

To fully implementthe guiding principles laid out at the 19th National People's Congress and toenhance the Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress deputies' ability to fulfillthe functions according to law, SNAI held the first training workshop on performancefulfillment for the 13th Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress Deputies on April9. Meng Zhou, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Jiangxi ProvincialPeople's Congress and Kouqing Li, President of SNAI attended the openingceremony. About 100 deputies attended the training.

Recently, adelegation led by Michael Desiderio, Executive Director of Executive MBACouncil, and Hua Wang, Vice President of Emlyon Business School and Dean of EmlyonAsia, paid a visit to SNAI. SNAI 2018postgraduate enrollment and second examination successfully concluded

Recently, SNAI 2018 postgraduate enrollmentand second examination were successfully concluded. Adhering to the principleof being efficient, fair and transparent, after rigorous qualification check,written examination, and face-to-face interview, based on the ranking of the totalscore and after being made public to all the test-takers, a total of 152candidates were admitted by SNAI into its master programs.

AFDI holds a mobilelearning program on Development Trends of E-Commerce and International Trade

Recently, AFDI heldits first webinar 2018 on the Development Trends of E-Commerce andInternational Trade via WeChat app and live streaming platform. Professor andPresident of SNAI, Dr. Kouqing Li, delivered opening remarks at the webinar.Over 340 delegates from 22 countries participated in the webinar and joinedlive discussions.

SNAI holds its first"Fun with Chinese Contest" for international students

To stimulate theinternational students' enthusiasm on learning Chinese, and to further enhancecommunication and friendship among faculty and students, SNAI/AFDI held thefirst "Fun with Chinese Contest" for its international students.There were six rounds of competition, including team introduction, acting andguessing, sentence transmission, writing the characters with given parts,freestyle performance, etc. International students of Grade 2016 and 2017actively participated in the event.

Dr. Chaoyi Tang'smonograph published

Recently, Dr. ChaoyiTang's monograph entitled "Taking Control of Your Life: Linking the Art ofWar with Life Strategy" is published by the Shanghai University of Financeand Economics Press. The book linked the Art of War, an ancient Chinesemilitary treatise by Sun Tsu dating from the Spring and Autumn period, withmanagerial frameworks like SWOT analysis to serve as reference for businessstrategy planning and personal decision making.

Senior professional titleevaluation coordination meeting of National Accounting Institutes held at SNAI

On April 26, thesenior professional title evaluation coordination meeting of NationalAccounting Institutes was held at SNAI. The meeting was chaired by LiangliangGuo, director of the Personnel and Education Department of the Ministry ofFinance. Three National Accounting Institutes joined the discussion on thequalification evaluation of senior professional and technical titles in 2018.

Recently, ShanghaiMunicipal Educational Commission released the winners of the 2017 ShanghaiMunicipal Teaching Achievement Awards. The instruction team of the course on theExploration and Practice of XBRL Experiential Teaching led by Vice Presidentand Professor Qin Liu of SNAI won the second prize.

On April 21, a teamnamed Oriental Express consisting of five postgraduate students from SNAI wonthe first prize of the 8th IMA Campus Management Accounting Case Competition inEast and South China competition zone for its outstanding performance and wasqualified as finalist for the national competition.

New Development Bank delegation visits SNAI/AFDI

On April 23, SergioG. Suchodolski, director of the Strategic and Cooperative Relations of the NewDevelopment Bank paid a visit to SNAI/AFDI. President Kouqing Li met with thedelegation and held talks on future cooperation between the two organizationswith regard to regional capacity building and knowledge exchange under the Beltand Road initiative.

On April 24, AssistantPresident Hongxun Yi attended the welcome reception of CPA Australia's newly-appointedCEO Andrew Hunter at its invitation and delivered remarks at the meeting.
