The Party Committees of SNAI and ShanghaiResident Bureau of Supervision of MOF jointly organized the study session onNovember 27, 2020 in a hope to help all staff to better understand the core ideasof fifth plenary session of the 19^th CPC central committee. A totalof 340 participants, including all the staff of SNAI as well as the Bureau, theSNAI graduate students attended the study session, which was hosted by SNAIVice President Liu Qin.

Fifth cohort of LeadingAccounting Talents Program of Jiangsu Province held at SNAI

The 5^th cohort of Leading Accounting TalentsProgram of Jiangsu Province has been recently held at SNAI. Li Zailin, DirectorGeneral of Jiangsu Provincial Finance Brueau as well as Bai Xiaohong, SNAI VicePresident were present at the opening ceremony and gave remarks. A total of 56participants attended the opening, which was hosted by Huang Chunyu, Directorof Accounting Department of the Bureau.

The opening ceremony of the LeadingAccounting Talents Program of Shanxi Province (third cohort) was held onNovember 26, 2020 in Taiyuan city. Wu Taohe, Party Secretary and DirectorGeneral of Shanxi Provincial Finance Department, Bai Xiaohong, SNAI Vice Presidentattended the opening and gave remarks. The senior officials of ShanxiProvincial Finance Bureau, Shanxi Provincial Department of Human Resources andSocial Security, the class of third cohort of the program as well as the senioraccountants of Shanxi province participated in this event.

First national examination on FAI(Finance enabled by AI) and CTM (Certificatein Tax Management) organized

SNAIorganized the first national examination on FAI (Finance enabled by AI)and CTM (Certificate in Tax Management) on November 28, 2020. SNAIVice President Bai Xiaohong, together with the staff of IT Departmentsupervised the examination. The attendance rate of FAI examination was 94.2%and that of CTM examination was 89.1%.

Participantsof SNAI workshop on development and application offinance shared service center visits Deloitte globaldelivery center in Chongqing

TheSNAI workshop on development and application of finance shared service centerhas been organized to Chongqing city recently. A total of 50 top financepractitioners from big SOEs participated in the workshop. They were arranged totake a field study at the Deloitte global delivery center in Chongqing to learnthe experience in the construction and operation of GDC, the latest technologyand its application in finance and accounting.

Competition of reflection on Accounting Oral History held

Several SNAI departments jointly organized thecompetition of reflection on Accounting Oral History among SNAI short-termtraining participants and faculty. A total of 245 pieces of reflections werecollected from participants of different programs, such as National LeadingAccounting Talents Program, EMBA, EMPAcc and Provincial Leading AccountingTalents Program. The participants who joined this competition were from about15 areas, such as Shanghai, Jiangsu Province, Sichuan Province, ShandongProvince, Shanxi Province. After the expert review, there were all together 10first prize winners, 20 second prize winners, 30 third prize winners.

The2020 China International Public Procurement Forum, jointly organized byShanghai municipal government and Ministry of Finance was successfully heldduring the third China International Import Expo. Finance Minister Liu Kunwrote the preface of the forum promotion brochure and signed for it. ViceFinance Minister Xu Hongcai was present at the forum. He, together with ViceMayor of Shanghai Chen Yin, WTO Deputy Chief Yi Xiaozhun and Sanjay Mathur,Director General of UN Office for Project Services all gave opening remarks.The treasury department appreciated SNAI’s efforts in forum organization andfacilitation.

Thirdforum on AI enabled finance successfully organized

Thethird forum on AI enabled finance, jointly sponsored by SNAI, CNPC, KingdeeSoftware and several companies was successfully concluded on December 6,2020.The forum discussed the research, technology, application practices, productsR&D, talents training, standard setting around AI enabled finance. SNAIVice President Liu Qin gave a speech on thoughts and practices of AI enabled finance.The first best practice award of AI enabled finance was awarded at the forum.10 companies such as State Grid Hongzhou electric power company, China Tower,No.1 hospital affiliated to the University of Science and Technology of Chinawere given the Best Practice Award at the forum.

The workshop for the newlyappointed leaders of Party branches of industry association and chamber ofcommerce has been recently held at SNAI. Deputy Chairman of Party Committee ofShanghai Municipal government affiliated institutions Wang Yeyong attended theopening ceremony and gave remarks. A total of 40 participants including newlyappointed Party secretaries and members of Party branches of industryassociation and chamber of commerce participated in the training.

Third seminar on CFO digital leadership completed

The 10-day seminar on CFO digital leadership has beenrecently concluded. The seminar invited many leading experts and scholars inthe field to introduce topics such as leadership reform, digital transformationand operation of financial shared service center.

AccountingOral History (second edition) edited by SNAI come off the press

TheAccounting Oral History (second edition) has been recently published by LiXinAccounting Press. SNAI President Li Kouqing wrote the preface of the book,which collects the narratives of 29 senior accounting scholars born on or after1926. The narratives were collected during 2013-2019, covering topics such as theaccounting education, transformation of the accounting approaches, explorationof multiple bookkeeping methods, the change of accounting management system,early CPA industry development before and after 1949. It is no exaggeration tosay that this book is a first-hand narrative, clearly reflecting thedevelopment of China’s accounting industry over the century.

SNAIorganizes meeting to announce the new members of its leadership

SNAI organized the senior staff meeting on December14,2020, during which the personnel department of MOF announced the new membersof SNAI leadership via video link. Shan Renhui, deputy director general of thepersonnel department attended the meeting and gave remarks. The newly appointedSNAI Vice President Gao Daping gave speech. SNAI Vice President Liu Qin, onbehalf of the SNAI leadership also spoke at the meeting.

Workshop on PPP——experience of China successfully held

The online workshop on PPP——experience of China, jointlysponsored by SNAI and EFI was held during December 14-16, 2020. In Em, thedirector of EFI and the head of the international training department of SNAIjoined the opening ceremony and gave remarks. A total of 60 governmentofficials from the Ministry of Finance and Economy and other line ministries ofCambodia attended this online training.

2020Forum on AI enabled Finance successfully held

The 2020 Forum on AI enabled Finance with the theme of “GatherStrength and Plan for Future “was held at SNAI on December 12, 2020, attractingabout 200 participants. SNAI Vice President Bai Xiaohong and Wang Hongxin,chairman of the board of Shanghai Guanhui Education were present at the forumand gave remarks. The advanced course on CTM and intermediate-level course onFAI was officially launched at the forum. This event invited almost twenty FAIand CTM certified experts from universities, research institutions andcompanies.

SNAI graduate students excel again at the 2020 national English contest for university students

The organizing committee of 2020 national English contestfor university students has recently released the list of the winners of thecontest. Among them were 23 SNAI graduate students, with one grand prize, onefirst prize, eight second prize and thirteen third prize. The graduatedepartment of SNAI was awarded the Outstanding Organization Award, which marksthe seventh time that SNAI won this award since it joined this contest in 2014.

SNAI graduate students win the second prize in the second “Integrity Cup” MPAcc case competition

The second “Integrity Cup” MPAcc case competition hasbeen recently held at Beijing National Accounting Institute. The 5-person SNAIteam eventually won the second prize. One SNAI student was awarded the BestDebater Award.  SNAI Professor TongChengsheng and Dr. Wei haoqiang were awarded the Outstanding Advisor Award.

The finance training workshop for ChinaNuclear Energy Industry Corp. was held during December 22-24,2020 at SNAI.A total of 48 chief accountants and finance leaders from the group company, theresearch institutions, its subsidiaries in different areas joined this 3-dayworkshop. SNAI Vice President Lu Wenbin and Zhuo Yuyun, general manager ofChina Nuclear Energy Industry Corp had discussions around capacity building andhuman resources exchanges during the training period.

Third forum onoutstanding accounting talents innovation in Shanghai held successfully

Thethird forum on outstanding accounting talents innovation was held on December11, 2020 at SNAI to discuss the future trend of accounting and the developmentissues against new background. This forum, attracting the participants of theShanghai Leading Accounting Talents Program is aimed to provide a communicationplatform for leading accounting talents and discuss the cutting-edge issues toadapt to the accounting reform. SNAI Vice President Bai Xiaohong, Qin Li andZhu Gang, the director and deputy director of accounting department of Shanghaimunicipal finance bureau as well as Sun Rui, deputy editor-in-chief of Financeand Accounting were present at the forum.

The delegationvisited 13 organizations including several departments of the Ministry ofFinance ,such as the accounting department, fiscal department, personneltraining center as well as other government organizations such as  National Audit Office, international departmentof the Ministry of Commerce, accounting department of CSRC, training departmentsof National Academy of Governance and All-China Women’s Federation, CICPA todiscuss topics such as talents training, sharing of faculty resources and thecollaboration in research projects.

SNAI organizes online interview

SNAI and the Platform of gathering globaltalents in Shanghai collaborated for the first time on December 18, 2020 in thearea of recruiting high-level talents by organizing online interview at theShanghai Human Resources Service Center. This time, the Platform managed torecommend almost 40 eligible talents home and abroad for SNAI. Based on itsassessment criteria and demand, SNAI finally shortlisted seven candidates tojoin the online interview. The interview panel from SNAI Teaching Departmentand HR department had in-depth communication with the interviewees in terms ofHR policy, career development and the areas of research of the candidates.

SNAIstaffers win the third prize in Shanghai Youth Micro ResearchCompetition

Thefinal of the Shanghai Youth Micro Research Competition was held on December 18,2020. It was jointly sponsored by Shanghai Committee of Communist Youth League,Shanghai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and the WorkingCommittee of CPC Shanghai municipal government affiliated institutions. TheSNAI team named Brand Legacy stood out amid fierce competition and won thethird prize.

SNAI case oninformationization development and application get shortlisted   

Theannual conference of the committee on campus network of Shanghai Association ofHigher Education was held on December 18, 2020, with the main venue in Shanghaiand several online parallel sessions in Nanchang, Hangzhou and Xiamen, Theconference attracted the participants from almost 40 universities. The awardceremony for outstanding cases on informationization of higher education andoutstanding individual awards were held at the conference. The case submittedby SNAI staffer Hu Jinbo got shortlisted. The outstanding award for individualworking in the area of informationization of universities in Shanghai was givento SNAI staffer Dou Jindong.

Special-topic course oninternal auditing for China National Nuclear Power held at SNAI

Thespecial-topic course on internal auditing for China National Nuclear Power hasbeen recently held at SNAI. A total of 39  participants who work in disciplinaryinspection, auditing, finance from the group headquarter and its subsidiaries,branches participated in the training. The training used online and offlineapproach to introduce the international trend in internal auditing, theoriesand practices of internal auditing, economic accountability audit, engineeringaudit as well as big data and AI enabled auditing.

TheChinese embassy in Cambodia has recently received several letters of thankssent by the international students of China Aid Education Program from fouruniversities. Among them were three SNAI international students of class of2020, who wrote the letter to express their appreciation to the Chinesegovernment for the scholarship opportunity and their best wishes for theSino-Cambodia friendship.

Alongwith China activity was held for the 2019 international students on December30, 2020 to celebrate the new year and enhance cultural exchanges. The activityincluded Chinese food tasting and learning traditional Chinese painting. SNAIVice President Bai Xiaohong joined the activity and gave remarks. Thetraditional Chinese learning course was broadcast via Zoom for those who couldnot be back to campus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Theorganizing committee of China’s postgraduate mathematical contest in modellinghas recently announced the result. SNAI graduate Jiang xuanxuan won the thirdprize and eight SNAI graduates won the participation award. SNAI Staffer LiuRongguang was awarded the Outstanding Individual Award for his role inorganizing SNAI team to join this contest.

Themeeting for China’s communist Youth League members was organized on December 29at SNAI to discuss the topics such as professional capacity building, careerdevelopment for young people. SNAI Vice President Liu Qin attended the meetingand gave remarks.
