2021Asian Evaluation Week launched

The 2021Asian Evaluation Week, cosponsored by the Ministry of Finance, PRC and Asian Development Bank, co-organized by the Shanghai National Accounting Institute and the Independent Evaluation Department of ADB, was held online on September6. The theme of the 2021 AEW is transformational evaluation: moving from uncertainties to resilience. Zhu Zhongming, deputy minister of Ministry of Finance, attended the opening ceremony and gave keynote speech. He spoke highly of the achievements made by AEW for the past few years and warmly congratulated the launch of the event this year. Bambang Susantono, ADB vice president and Marvin Taylor-Dormond, director general of the Independent Evaluation Department of ADB also jointed the opening and gave remarks. Li Kouqing, SNAI president moderated this event. The relevant officials of the Ministry of Finance, PRC were invited to attend the AEW sessions.

SNAI president Li Kouqing gives an ideological and political lecture to SNAI graduate students

SNAI president Li Kouqing gave a lecture on the reflection upon major events in recent years to 2021 SNAI graduate students on September 2. SNAI president’s first lecture is an integral part of the ideological and political education for graduate students, which includes the theory and practice of the socialism with Chinese characteristics, Marxism and social science methodology, current situation and policy, professional ethics education.

Elite training program of China National Offshore Oil Corporation completed successfully

The one-month Elite Training Program of China National Offshore Oil Corporation was held at SNAI on September7, attracting a total of 40 participants from the headquarter and the affiliates of the Corporation Luo Xiao, director of finance and assets department of CNOOC and Lu Wenbin, SNAI vice president, attended the opening ceremony and gave remarks.

SNAI vice president Bai Xiaohong invited to visit the Shanghai office of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants

The SNAI delegation led by Bai Xiaohong, SNAI vice president, visited the Shanghai office of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants on September 8. Vicky Li, Regional VP, North Asia of Association of International Certified Professional Accountants met the delegation. Both sides discussed and exchanged ideas in many aspects such as the latest progress in the research in future-oriented leadership, CIMA competency framework, curriculum set-up, training mode, online training modules and approaches as well as potential areas for further cooperation.

The Ministry of Finance has recently announced the name list of the third advisory board of accounting standards for enterprises, which is all together 60 people. Professor Guo Yongqing has been invited to sit on the MOF advisory board of accounting standards for enterprises for the third consecutive term.

SNAI organizes commendation meeting to celebrate Teachers’ Day

SNAI commendation meeting was held on September 10 to celebrate the Teachers’ Day. The congratulatory message for the Teachers’ Day sent by the board of directors of the national accounting institutes of the Ministry of Finance was announced at the meeting. Honors and awards were given to outstanding staff and faculty. President Li Kouqing called for staff and faculty to study the important ideas of President Xi Jinping on education at the meeting.

SNAI staff and faculty meeting was organized on September 15 to announce the leadership appointment. According to the decision made by the Party committee of the Ministry of Finance, Zhang Ge xing was appointed as the SNAI vice president. 

Fourth cohort of leading accounting talents program of Jiangxi Province held

The opening ceremony of leading accounting talents program of Jiangxi Province ha sbeen held at SNAI recently. Chen Jiqiang, director general of Jiangxi provincial financial burau, Bai Xiaohong, SNAI vice president, Qiu Tongtong, director of accounting department of Jiangxi provincial finance bureau, attended the opening ceremony and gave remarks. Commissioned by the Jiangxi provincial finance bureau, SNAI has been organizing three cohorts of leading accounting talents program since 2012, training a total of 112 leading accounting talents within nine years.

Fourth cohort of leading accounting talents program of Shandong Province held online

The fourth cohort of leading accounting talents program of Shandong Province, jointly organized by SNAI and accounting department of Shandong provincial financial bureau, was held via video link on September 11 due to the currentCOVID-19 outbreak. It is the first online course held within the three-year cycle of this program, which started in 2018 and expects to be concluded inOctober,2021.

Training program for the management personnel of China Merchants Group has its third training in 2021

The third training of the training program for the management personnel of China Merchants Group in 2021 was held on September 10 via video link, connecting total of 50 participants from two sites, Beijing and Xinjiang, who participated in the session on Internet business model innovation instructed by Professor Lu Jianping.

Three SNAI research projects get approved as the Shanghai philosophy and social science planning projects

Three research projects of Shanghai faculty Zhang Shuangpeng, Wu Zhongsheng, Lv Minghan, among the nine projects submitted by SNAI faculty, got approved as the Shanghai philosophy and social science planning project.

The commencement ceremonies joint with the opening ceremony of the EMBA program, collaborated between SNAI and Arizona State University, EMPAcc program, collaborated between SNAI and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the MiM program collaborated between SNAI and ASU, were held together at SNAI on September 23. The ceremony was hosted by Lu Wenbin, SNAI vice president. Professor Lin Zhou, dean of CUHK business school, Amy Ostrom, dean of WP Carey School of Business of ASU all sent their congratulatory messages via video link. Professor Dan Qinyoung, director of Executive Master of Professional Accountancy Program at the CUHK, Ian Curtiss, Assistant Dean, Asia of ASU, Professor Benjamin Shao, Associate Dean for Asia-Pacific Programs and Initiatives as well as the fresh participants and graduates attended the event.

Opening ceremony of 2020 Master of Professional Accounting Program held online

The opening ceremony of 2020 Master of Professional Accounting Program was held on September 29 via Zoom. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020class, with a total of 24 participants from nine developing countries could not make it to China for studying. The ceremony was hosted by Gao Daping, SNAI vice president. Li Kouqing, SNAI president, Bai Xiaohong, SNAI vice president, Zhang Gexing, SNAI vice president as well as faculty representatives and about 20international students’ alumni joined the online ceremony.

The first cohort of BDO China Elite Program was held at SNAI on September 23. Budgetary Affairs Commission of People’s Congress of Shanghai sends letter of thanks to SNAI professor

The Policy Recommendation of SNAI, which collects the working papers written by SNAI researchers and professors aims to provide policy recommendations to the Ministry of Finance and the decision-making bodies of government at all levels. The standing committee of People’s Congress of Shanghai adopted part of Professor Zhang Hui’s policy recommendations when revising the budgetary regulations. On this note, the budgetary affairs commission of People’s Congress of Shanghai sent a letter of thanks to SNAI.

The leading accounting talents program of Hubei Province, the advanced training workshop of CPA association of Shandong Province, the second cohort of leading accounting talents program of Changzhou city, the sixth intensive training of the seventh cohort of leading accounting talents program of Shanghai, the training workshop for chief accounting officers of big and medium-sized enterprises and public institutions have been held at SNAI recently.
