SNAI faculty and students watched the opening ceremony of the 20th National Congress of CPC on October 16,2022, listening carefully to the report made, on behalf of the 19th CPC Central Committee, by Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the CPC. More than 200 participants joined this event together.

MOF professional capacity building training for chief accountants of enterprises (second cohort) held at SNAI 

The MOF professional capacity building training for chief accountants of enterprises (second cohort) was held on September 20, 2022. Han Bing, director of the Accounting Department of the Ministry of Finance, Tang Rui, deputy director of the financial management and operation bureau of the SASAC, and Zhang Gexing, vice president of SNAI, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. A total of 79 financial leaders attended the training.

First Yangtze River Delta CEO and CFO Partner Forum attracts wide media coverage 

The First Yangtze River Delta CEO and CFO Partner Forum, jointly organized by SNAI and Zhangjian Entrepreneur College, was successfully held on September 22, 2022, which attracted wide media coverage and attention. A total of 20 news about this event were covered, including the central media such as the Central Radio and Television Station, Guangming Daily, Economic Daily, China News Service, China Securities News, the local media such as Wen Hui Daily, Shanghai People's Radio, Oriental Network, Xinmin News, etc.; and the industrial media such as the Shanghai Securities News, International Finance News, China Accounting News etc. 

First financing guarantee professional skills competition in the Yangtze River Delta successfully held in Shanghai

In order to select a group of financing guarantee practitioners with strong expertise and comprehensive capacity to participate the competition on behalf of Shanghai, the Shanghai Municipal Policy Financing Guarantee Fund Management Center for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises commissioned SNAI to select the qualified contestants for the first financing guarantee professional skills competition. A total of 18 contestants were selected out of 70 candidates through the first round of written exams to join the second round of interview exams. Zhang Feng,  Party secretary of SNAI, Zhang Gexing, vice president of SNAI, and some faculty representatives participated in the interview and selection process. Lu Hua, director of the Shanghai Municipal Financing Guarantee Center, fully affirmed the selection and organization of the online written exam and interview exams.

Strategic cooperation agreement signed between SNAI and China Financial Futures Exchange

The strategic cooperation agreement between SNAI and China Financial Futures Exchange were signed on September 29, 2022 in Shanghai. Zhang Feng, Party secretary of SNAI and He Qingwen, secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the China Financial Futures Exchange, attended the signing ceremony. Ye Chunhe, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of the China Financial Futures Exchange, and Zhang Gexing, vice president of SNAI, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties. The signing ceremony was hosted by Ye Chunhe. The two sides agreed to carry out in-depth cooperation in the future by jointly building a joint laboratory or establishing a research center, integrating and tapping into the resources of each side to collaborate in the area of think tank research as well as jointly carrying out post-doctoral training and other types of talents training.

The SNAI delegation led by Party Secretary Zhang Feng and SNAI vice president Lu Wenbing visited Shanghai Municipal Finance Bureau on October 14, 2022. The senior leaders of Shanghai Finance Bureau met with the SNAI delegation and attended the meeting. Both sides discussed the cooperation between the two sides since the launch of SNAI as well as the future cooperation to further implement the local and national strategies including the integration of Yangtze Delta, 

SNAI organizes a get-together event for the Double Ninth Festival

SNAI organized a get-together event for the Double Ninth Festival on September 29. Zhang Feng, Party secretary of SNAI, attended the event and had a cordial conversation with the retired faculty. Bai Xiaohong and Zhang Gexing, vice presidents of SNAI, participated in the event together. The retired faculty talked freely about their thoughts on the high-quality development of SNAI. On behalf of the Party Committee of SNAI, Zhang Feng, Party secretary of SNAI, extended holiday greetings to retired faculty and expressed gratitude to their contribution to the development of the institute over the years. 

Research Center for Policy Finance and Industrial Development of SNAI organizes a working meeting

In order to further strengthen the development of think tanks, SNAI established a Research Center for Policy Finance and Industrial Development in 2022, with Zhang Feng, Party secretary of SNAI, as director of the Research Center. The first working meeting of the Research Center was successfully held on October 11, 2022, with all members of the Research Center attending the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Gexing, vice president of SNAI as well as executive director of the Research Center.

SNAI organizes a series of activities to study the spirit of the 20th National Congress of CPC

SNIA has organized a series of activities to study the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC since October 16. The members of the Party committee of SNAI took the lead in discussing their learning takeaways, and the party branch secretaries, faculty representatives, and young staff actively participated in the learning activities and shared their feelings and takeaways. 

SNAI focuses on developing think tanks 

In order to implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and better serve the central work of finance, SNAI organized a seminar on the development of think tank on October 31. The seminar was chaired by Bai Xiaohong, vice president of SNAI. Zhang Feng, Party secretary of SNAI, attended the seminar and delivered remarks. Bai Xiaohong, and five department heads expressed their views on how to write think tank reports. The head of Research and Management Department introduced the experience and thoughts on the practice of think tank management and incentive related system. Two SNAI faculty shared their experience in selecting topics for decision-making reference. SNAI Party secretary Zhang Feng stressed that SNAI should effectively carry out research with in-depth practice and strive to provide more intellectual support for financial management and reform.

Internal control committee of SNAI organizes a working meeting

The internal control meeting of SNAI in 2022 was held on October 31, introducing the staff reshuffling of the internal control committee and the internal control office of SNAI as well as the self-check and revision of SNAI internal control system. Zhang Gexing, vice president of SNAI hosted the meeting and Zhang Feng, Party secretary of SNAI attended the meeting and made closing remarks, emphasizing the importance and the complexity of the internal control for the institute.

Zhang Feng, Party secretary of SNAI visits the Shanghai Hospital Development Center for field study

Zhang Feng, Party secretary of SNAI, visited the Shanghai Hospital Development Center of Shanghai for field study on October 28, 2022. Zhao Dandan, Party secretary of the Center, Wang Xingpeng, director of the Center, Lu Chunyi, deputy director of the Center and Zheng Xingdong, President of the No.1 People's Hospital, participated in the meeting. The two sides discussed the competency frameworks for chief accountants of public hospitals, performance evaluation indicators for public hospitals, and the cooperation in developing think tanks in the field of financial management of public hospitals. The SNAI delegation led by its Party secretary Zhang Feng has been conducting several field studies recently to organizations such as the working Committee of municipal government of Shanghai Municipal Committee, Shanghai finance bureau as well as the resident office of the supervision bureau of the Ministry of Finance in Shanghai. 

SNAI organizes the new employee training in 2022

SNAI organized the new employee training for the staff who have been recruited in recent three years on October 13, 2022. Zhang Feng, Party secretary of SNAI as well as Zhang Gexing, vice president of SNAI attended the kick-off meeting for the new employee training. Zhang Feng gave the first lecture on how to be a responsible and accountable financial officer while Zhang Gexing introduced to the audience SNAI’s development in two decades. 

SNAI international students coming back to campus

SNAI has been making detailed arrangements to ensure the smooth and safe return of international students after the students’ visa to China were resumed in late August. By the end of October, a total of 24 international students had entered China, from 10 countries including Laos, Cambodia, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Tanzania. It is expected that by the end of November, the number of inbound students will reach more than 50, accounting for about 70% of all international students. In order to help the international students better adapt to campus life and further strengthen the education of Chinese culture for international students, SNAI also organized the "Tasting China" – dumpling making experience. Zhang Feng, Party secretary of SNAI, also participated in the dumpling making activity with the international students. 

SNAI invited to participate in the workshop organized by the New Development Bank

The New Development Bank (NDB), in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance of China, hosted a workshop under the theme of Scaling Up Development Finance for a Sustainable Future on October 25, 2022. The workshop was held in a hybrid format both at NDB’s Headquarters in Shanghai and online. Mr. Liu Kun, Chinese minister of finance and Mr. Marcos Troyjo, President of NDB gave opening remarks via video link. The workshop was participated by representatives from governments, diplomatic missions, development finance institutions, academic institutions, private sector entities and other members of the development community. Zhang Gexing, vice president of SNAI as well as some SNAI faculty were also invited to attend the workshop. 

SNAI EMBA program ranks top 20 globally for the 4th consecutive year
The Financial Times released the global EMBA top 20 list on October 17, 2022. The EMBA program collaborated between the W.P Carey School of Business of Arizona State University and SNAI ranks 20th among the list, which marks the fourth consecutive time to be a global top 20 program. It also ranks No.1 among the collaborated programs between Chinese universities and international universities in China.
