SNAI organized a Teachers' Day recognition meeting on September 11th. Zhang Feng, SNAI Party Secretary, read out the Teachers' Day congratulations letterfrom the National Accounting Institute's Office of the Board of Directors,sending the Ministry's festive greetings to all SNAI teachers and staff. BaoXiaowen, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee of SNAI, read out thelist of employees who received the awards for excellent performance. SNAI vicepresident Zhang Gexing read out a list of personnel who had been with the SNAIfor 20 years and 10 years. Zhang Feng extended holiday greetings to all employees.
2023 AEW was launched in Bangkok, Thailand
The 2023Asian Evaluation Week (AEW) with the theme Beyond Recovery: Evaluation for Development Effectiveness, which was held from 11-14September in Thailand, ended on ahigh note with a total of 190 participants from more than 30 organizations across 50 countries in attendance. The 2023 AEW marked the first time the conference returned to a fullyonsite event since the pandemic. The 4-day event featured 20 parallel sessions and 3 plenaries, with 88 speakers who are all experts in their respective fields. Chinese ViceMinister Zhu Zhongming of the Ministry of Finance wrote a written letterspecifically for the occasion, congratulating the organizers and expressing hishope for the event's success. Emmanuel Jimenez, Director of the AsianDevelopment Bank's (ADB) Independent Evaluation Office, Charlotte JustineSicat, ADB Executive Director, and Jomkwan Kongsakul, Assistant SecretaryGeneral of Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), all spoke at theopening ceremony. Keynote speeches were given by Xue Wei, Deputy DirectorGeneral of the Budget Department of MOF, and Song Bin, Deputy Director Generalof the Supervision and Evaluation Bureau of MOF, on the theme of Evaluation inorder to support high-quality growth on China's modernization route. ProfessorLu Wenbin, President of SNAI, moderated the keynote speakers.
The Accounting Standard Setting Bodies from China, Japan, and Korea convened at SNAI
A meeting of the accounting standard-setting bodies of Korea, China, andJapan was effectively conducted at SNAI on August 30. 30 delegates from China,Japan, Korea, Hong Kong SAR, and Macao SAR attended the meeting, which wasorganized by SNAI and hosted by the China Accounting Standards Board. Amongthem were thirty delegates from China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong SAR, and MacaoSAR. Lu Wenbin, President of SNAI, Shu Huihao, Director General of theAccounting Department of the Ministry of Finance of China; Zhang Juan, DeputyDirector of the China Accounting Standards Board (CASB); and IASB Director LuJianqiao and Chairman Andreas Barckow both attended the meeting. Progress onthe development and implementation of accounting standards in the participatingcountries and regions was discussed, with particular attention given to incometax, encoded assets, leasing, and administrative matters associated with thesestandards.
Training workshop for Intermediate-Level financial managers of ChinaDevelopment Bank was held at SNAI
A four-day training workshop for mid-level finance managers of ChinaDevelopment Bank was held at SNAI from September 5 to 8, attended by 53participants from various departments of the head office and branch offices.Bao Quanyong, deputy general manager of the Finance and Accounting Departmentof China Development Bank, and Zhang Feng, Party Secretary of SNAI, attended theopening ceremony and delivered speeches respectively.
Zhang Feng, Party Secretary of SNAI, visited the Ningbo Supervision Bureau to observe how SNAI graduate students complete their internships
On September 4, Zhang Feng, Party Secretary of SNAI, visited the NingboSupervisory Bureau of the Ministry of Finance to gain a better understanding ofthe internship practice of graduate students. During his visit, he engaged indiscussions with SNAI graduate students and the department heads responsiblefor the internships. Subsequently, SNAI intends to enhance the internshipscreening process, optimize employment matching, streamline the internshipcycle, foster greater internship collaboration between the two organizations,and further refine the talent cultivation methodology at the institution.
SNAI participated in the "2023 Yangtze River Delta Rural RejuvenationConference" and announces cooperation research initiatives
The "2023 Yangtze River Delta Rural Rejuvenation Conference" withthe topic "Science and Technology Innovation to Promote Modernization ofAgriculture and Rural Areas" was held on September 8 in Jinshan District,Shanghai. Shanghai Municipal Commission of Agriculture and Rural Development,Shanghai Jinshan District People's Government, Shanghai Modern Service IndustryFederation, and Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences hosted theconference, which was organized by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Agricultureand Rural Development, Jinshan District, and Shanghai Modern Service IndustryPromotion Centre. SNAI Vice President Zhang Gexing and Pacific AnxinAgricultural Insurance Company Limited General Manager Shi Jian jointlyreleased the joint study project and formally inaugurated the researchcollaboration. Given the necessity and urgency of research on policy financeand industrial development, SNAI created the Policy Finance and IndustrialDevelopment Research Centre in 2021, with Zhang Feng, SNAI's Party Secretary,as Director. In March 2023, SNAI signed a strategic collaboration agreementwith PICC, promising to carry out a research project titled "AgriculturalTechnology Empowerment - Research on Inclusive Policy Finance."
SNAI hosted a Leadership Enhancement Workshop for principal accountants ofaccounting firms in Guangdong province
SNAI hosted a leadership development workshop forprincipal accountants of accounting firms in Guangdong province onSeptember 5. Ou Bin, President of the Guangdong Association of Certified PublicAccountants, and Bai Xiaohong, Vice President of the SNAI, both attended theinaugural ceremony and gave remarks. Mu Huishu, Secretary General of theGuangdong Association of Certified Public Accountants, presided over theopening ceremony. The seminar was attended by more than 70principal accountants from accounting firms across Guangdong Province.
Senior financial and accounting personnel of Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC) participated in a training workshop at SNAI
SNAI hosted a training workshop at SNAI for the seniorfinancial and accounting personnel of Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC)on September 12. More than fifty individuals attended, including divisiondirectors and department heads, chief accountants from the finance departmentof the Group, and representatives from its directly affiliated companies.Attending the opening ceremony and delivering speeches, respectively, were YangLufeng, Assistant General Manager of AECC, Sun Hongwei, Director of Finance Department,and Bao Xiaowen, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee of SNAI.
SNAI hosted a training program for finance officials in the National Prisonand Drug Rehabilitation System
Commissioned by the Equipment and Financial Security Bureau of the Ministryof Justice, the training workshop for financial personnel in the NationalPrison and Drug Rehabilitation System was held at SNAI on September 12,attracting 100 financial personnel from prisons and drug rehabilitation centersacross the country. Meng Xianjun, Director of the Ministry of Justice'sEquipment and Financial Security Bureau, and Zhang Gexing, Vice President ofSNAI, both attended the opening ceremony and gave opening remakes.
The ministerial-provincial cooperative research projects undertaken by SNAI faculty were appraised with good ranking.
The Ministry of Finance issued a circular on the appraisal ofministerial-provincial cooperative research projects for the fiscal year 2022on September 5. The Ministry of Finance announced a total of 33 selected topicsfor the year 2022, with 5 receiving outstanding ranking and 8 receiving good ranking.The four cooperative research projects undertaken by SNAI faculty passed theacceptance and completion review, with Bai Xiaohong's competitive researchproject on " Macroeconomic Cycle Problems in China" receiving anexcellent appraisal grade and ranking third among the five research projectswith excellent rating and the commissioned research project on “Issues Relatedto Legislation of Regulations on Management of State-owned FinancialCapitals" undertaken by Zhou yun received the good grade and ranked thethird among the 8 research projects with good rating .
The "25th Shanghai Youth Model Unit Award" was given to two SNAI groups
The Office of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth Leagueannounced on August 30th that 520 groups had won the "25th Shanghai YouthModel Unit Award." Among the 520 groups were the Project Operation Centreof Training Department 1 and the SNAI International Students Office.
SNAI faculty was selected as fourth Corporate Accounting Standards Advisory Committee
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) released the Circular on the List of Membersof the Fourth Corporate Accounting Standards Advisory Committee on September1st. Associate Professor Li Lin of SNAI was appointed to the Fourth CorporateAccounting Standards Advisory Committee for a period of two years subsequent tothe public selection process.
One SNAI staff’s family was named "The Most Beautiful Family in 2023"of Shanghai Municipal Organs
The Shanghai Municipal Organs Women's Working Committee announced theresults of "The Most Beautiful Family" of Municipal Organs in 2023 onSeptember 12th, and Zhao Ting's family earned the title.
SNAI offered a summer camp for staff members' children in 2023.
The SNAI employees' union organized a summer camp for the kids of itsemployees with the help of SNAI management. The camp was designed to addressthe issues of employees' children who were unattended during the summer months.It ran for two months, nine weeks, and forty-four days of lessons, Mondaythrough Friday. The SNAI employees and their kids enthusiastically embraced theprogram, which fulfilled their expectations in terms of "full day care,""diversified learning," and "covering all ages."
SNAI-sponsored "The Third Lecture on Chinese Modernization“ was held
Wang Tuanwei, Vice President of Tianneng Group, part-time supervisor ofShanghai National Accounting Institute, and expert in management accountingconsulting for the Ministry of Finance, was invited to speak on the subject of"Energy Solutions for Modernization in Chinese Style" at the thirdlecture of Chinese Modernization in Chinese Style, which was hosted by SNAI onSeptember 21. UFIDA significantly contributed to the coordination of thislecture. Zhang Feng, Party Secretary of SNAI, together with 6,000 attendees,participated in the lecture in person and virtually.
International students were presented with the "First Lecture” by Zhang Feng, Party Secretary of SNAI.
The "First Lecture" was delivered by Zhang Feng, Party Secretaryof SNAI, on September 22. In it, he systematically introduced 66 internationalstudents of SNAI to the history of China's economic and social development overthe last four decades, as well as the accomplishments in financial work. Bydoing so, he helped the international students gain a better understanding ofChina, Shanghai, and SNAI. Zhang Feng initiated the lecture by addressing theinquiry, "What is a planned economy?" Through dialogue andinteraction with the students, he elaborated on the historical trajectory ofChina's economic and social progress, while vividly elucidating the theoreticaland historical reasoning that underpinned the historical shift of reform andopening up. The international students anticipated implementing what they hadlearned to contribute to the economic and social progress of their homecountries after their graduation.
The commencement ceremony for the co-operative master’s degree Programs of 2023 was held at SNAI
The International Conference Centre hosted the commencement ceremonies forEMBA19, EMPAcc22, and MiM3 on September 23. A total of 293 graduates of 2023were in attendance at the ceremony. Additionally, the commencement ceremony wasbeing transmitted live and in real time. Attending the ceremony and deliveringspeeches in that order were Zhang Feng, Party Secretary of SNAI; Lu Wenbin,President of SNAI; Zhou Lin, Dean of the School of Business at The ChineseUniversity of Hong Kong; and Ohad Kadan, Dean of the Carey Business School atArizona State University. The graduating classes were presented withcertificates of completion. Students who achieved outstanding academic resultswere bestowed with distinctions and awards.
SNAI organized a competency enhancement training workshop for the financial personnel of Shuifa Group
The competency enhancement training workshop for Shuifa Group's financialpersonnel was held at SNAI on September 15. Wang Zhenqing, CFO of Shuifa Group,and Zhang Feng, Party Secretary of SNAI, both delivered speeches at theinauguration ceremony. This training marks the inaugural collaboration betweenShanghai National Accounting Institute and Shuifa Group, with the objective ofenhancing the overall proficiency of Shuifa Group's financial staff viaeducational initiatives.
SNAI hosted the 2023 Phase II Budget Management Training Course for Budgetary Units in Sichuan and Tibet
Commissioned by the Sichuan Supervision Bureau of the Ministry of Finance,the "Budget Management Training Course for Budgetary Units in Sichuan andTibet" was conducted on September 19. A total of 69 participants attended,representing over 30 budgetary units of central government in Sichuan andTibet. Attending the inauguration ceremony were Zhang Feng, Party Secretary ofSNAI, and Wu Cuiyun, Deputy Director General of the Sichuan Supervision Bureau.Both delivered opening remarks at the ceremony.
The accounting talent development workshop for Wenzhou private businesses was concluded at SNAI
The closing ceremony of the accounting talents training workshop forprivate enterprises in Wenzhou took place at SNAI on September 21. ZhangGexing, vice president of SNAI, and Lian Laijing, deputy director of theWenzhou City Finance Bureau, both spoke at and attended the closing ceremony.Each participant was awarded a completion certificate. Honors were bestowedupon exceptional students and research endeavors.
Keele University (United Kingdom) Professor David Law addressed an audienceof international students of SNAI
Professor David Law, Vice Chancellor of Keele University (UK), was engagedto deliver a lecture titled "A story of commitment and courage" tointernational students of SNAI on September 21st. The lecture drew inspirationfrom the life experiences of two individuals: Li Xiaoli, an anti-Japaneseheroine, and Michael Lindsay, the son of the founder of Keele University and arenowned international friend of the Chinese people. The lecture was wellreceived by the international students.
A national flag-raising ceremony was conducted by SNAI
The SNAI hoisted the national flag with a grand ceremony on September 28 inobservance of the 74th anniversary of the People's Republic of China'sestablishment. The ceremony was attended by SNAI President Lu Wenbin and VicePresident Zhang Gexing, in addition to the entire faculty and staff,postgraduates, and international students. All faculty and students, accordingto Lu Wenbin, should serve as a vital pillar for the growth of SNAI. It isdesired that all individuals will enhance their efficiency in studying andworking, recognize the intrinsic worth of serving their country and society,and contribute more significantly to the development of a globally recognizedaccounting institute.
Delegation from AICPA and CIMA Visited SNAI
A delegation from AICPA and CIMA, led by Li Ying, President of the AICPAand CIMA North Asia Region, paid SNAI a visit on September 22. The president ofSNAI, Lu Wenbin, addressed the attendees. Both parties engaged in a discussionregarding their recent and prospective work priorities, as well as theenhancement of cooperation regarding the education of elite accountingprofessionals at the national and local levels, training projects forinternational talents, and more. Additionally, the potential for collaborationon joint events, research, and digital management accounting initiatives wasdeliberated between the two parties.
Strategic cooperation agreement signed between the SuzhouMunicipal Finance Bureau and SNAI
A strategic cooperation agreement was signed between SNAI and the SuzhouMunicipal Finance Bureau on September 21 in Suzhou. Vice Mayor of the city ofSuzhou, Shi Jiahong, was present at the signing ceremony and delivered aspeech. Bai Xiaohong, vice president of SNAI, and Liu Xiaomei, director ofSuzhou Finance Bureau, signed the strategic cooperation agreement and deliveredspeeches on behalf of the two parties. Additionally in attendance at thesigning ceremony were Yu Haiming, the Deputy Director of the Suzhou IndustrialPark Finance and Audit Bureau, and Shen Xiaoming, the Director of the Bureau.The ceremony was presided over by the deputy director of the Suzhou FinanceBureau, Mr. Ji Guofeng.
One million RMB has been donated to SNAI Fund by alumna Ms. Jiang Jinhua to support SNAI's growth in the future
Alumni Jiang Jinhua and Liu Qin,Chairman of the Education Development Foundation of Shanghai National Accounting Institute (SNAI), executed a donation agreement on September 21. Thesigning ceremony was attended by Prof. Lu Wenbin, SNAI President, Fu Qiulian, SecretaryGeneral of the Education Development Foundation, Yang Yucheng, director of the Foundationand Huang Caiying, supervisor of the Foundation. The Foundation shall ensurethe prudent allocation of funds while additionally advancing the progress of SNAI.
